Obama related to Pitt, Clinton to Jolie – Yahoo! News

BOSTON – This could make for one odd family reunion: Barack Obama is a distant cousin of Brad Pitt, and Hillary Rodham Clinton is related to Pitt’s girlfriend, Angelina Jolie.

Researchers at the New England Historic Genealogical Society found some remarkable family connections for the three presidential candidates — Democratic rivals Obama and Clinton, and Republican John McCain.

Clinton, who is of French-Canadian descent on her mother’s side, is also a distant cousin of singers Madonna, Celine Dion and Alanis Morissette. Obama, the son of a white woman from Kansas and a black man from Kenya, can call six U.S. presidents, including George W. Bush, his cousins. McCain is a sixth cousin of first lady Laura Bush.

Lottery-sized Home Theater

Filed under: Uncategorized — doctorfeelgood @ 9:04 am

Let’s say I win the lottery. Not just a little jackpot, but a really big one. If that happens, this is the home theater I might want to put in my mansion. It costs about $6 million and includes a gigantic, Snowmatte laboratory-grade screen, Sony ultra-high-resolution (4,096-by-2,160) SRX-S110 digital projector, a 8.8-channel audio system with THREE center-channel speakers, SIXTEEN 18-inch Snell Subs, and the list goes on and on. In the end, the setup powers 11,315 high-quality watts in the room designed for the sole purpose of being the ultimate home theater. Is it overkill? Heck yes, but who’s going to judge you when it’s your cash?

Serenity Day 2008 – August 17th

Filed under: Uncategorized — doctorfeelgood @ 4:56 pm

The official mission of Serenity Day 2008 (SD08) is to promote massive sales of the Serenity Collector’s Edition DVD (BDCE), to donate those BDCEs (and any related items) to appropriate organizations, to promote charities related to our ‘Verse, to promote a worldwide increase in the Browncoat ranks, and to prove that there is sufficient interest — and money — to justify a sequel to Serenity, and the continuation of our ‘Verse.

We do not holds the above goals as mutually exclusive. We see sharing our ‘Verse as spreading a message of hope, of strength, of love, of inspiration, of respect, and of overcoming adversity against all odds.

The official date of Serenity Day 2008 is Sunday, August 17, 2008. This is the eve of the one-year anniversary of the release of the BDCE. Our ultimate goal is to do nothing short of wiping all shelves clean of this product, just in time to push initial year-over-year sales figures for the BDCE off the charts, through the stratosphere, and into the Black.
