More Cnet love – Quad-core PCs for more than my car costs

Filed under: Uncategorized — doctorfeelgood @ 12:31 pm

Owch – nice rigs though.

Sitting down? Good, because here’s where we tell you that two of these quad-core systems break the $7,000 mark. The Widow PC IX2 SLI comes in at $7,361, while the Velocity Micro Raptor Signature Edition ups the bidding to $7,395. For that kind of money, rest assured you’re getting the type of performance that few PCs can match. The Velocity and the Widow systems finished at or near the top of nearly every benchmark we ran, including the all-important 3D graphics tests. Each system features an overclocked QX6700 processor, 2GB of memory, and a pair of GeForce 8800 GTX cards inside a beautiful Lian Li case.

24 vs. Heroes – Two and a Half Men for the Win :(

Filed under: Cool Stuff — doctorfeelgood @ 11:56 am

More of the same – Heroes rocks!

From the Orlando Sentinel:

“In the face-off between Fox’s “24” and NBC’s “Heroes” the winner was CBS’ “Two and a Half Men.” The sitcom stars Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones (pictured).

The comedy attracted 15.9 million viewers Monday. “Heroes” averaged 14.9 million for the hour while “24” gripped 14.5 million. In terms of 18-to-49 viewers — the count that advertisers care about — “Heroes” was out out in front, followed by “24,” then “Two and a Half Men.””
