Boing Boing

Ok – first a baby is put through the airport X-ray?  Then, Anthrax is still causing the police issues!

Bioterrorism officials in a small Arizona town responded to police concerns over white powder in a dumpster with the word “ANTHRAX” scrawled on the side. The substance turned out to be flour, and the dumpster graffiti also included the mysterious words “AC/DC” and “Iron Maiden.”

Didn’t They Do This In The Simpsons Sort Of

Of course stolen from Boing Boing.  Where else?  So, a sheltered village wants some sunlight.  Nothing that $100,000 can’t fix!  Kewl.

Also, never again will I buy an Athlon CPU from TigerDirect – even this Athlon 64 4000+ for $90.  Well, $79.99 + s/h after a $50 rebate that will take three resubmittals and four phone calls for TigerDirect to honor – just like my old Athlon XP 1600+.  Besides, you really want a Socket AM2 unit now so you can upgrade later!  I can’t believe my Athlon 64 X2 3800+ AM2 is already down to $145 only 8 months after I paid $260.  Crap.  Oh well!

Sweet Mouse

Filed under: Cool Stuff — doctorfeelgood @ 10:55 am

This mouse is so sweet – used one last week at a friend’s house.  RevolutionNice.  Too bad I can’t scrounge up $70 for one at buy.com with Google Checkout.  Oh well.  The MX1000 is $40 – tempting. . .  Notice how I am posting pix now that I have it figured out?

No offense, Scott, but this is the first one that made me laugh out loud.

I love the podcast from myextralife.com but the comics are usually smile not laugh funny.  This one kicks butt!

“Killing for Religion, Something I Don’t Understand” – Megadeth

Well, this I found interesting from Slashdot.  A Christian videogame requiring you to kill non-Christians.  Better than killing aliens or humans in every other shooter.  Cool.  Of course, someone somewhere isn’t happy and wants it banned.  Wal-Mart says it is selling well and screw you.  Awesome!

My New Phone

Filed under: Cool Stuff — doctorfeelgood @ 10:33 pm

BlackBerryOk, so everyone already knows all about Blackberry’s but I don’t so I got one and switched to T-Mobile to get one.  It is AWESOME – better coverage than Nextel and I can surf the internet!!! Yea!  I am still trying to figure out how to load stuff onto it without surfing to that site AND find free ringtones, not the expensive ones from RIM.  Games are cool, and it is a nice unit.  I LOVE it.

The wife now has a normal, plain jane Razor V3Razor which is a nice unit – she loves the camera.  It is really really stupid thin and I had never seen one until going to Cadillac.  Nice phones.  Chris is happy to have my old phone because Jack Bauer (24) uses the Motorola i860 when he isn’t using a Treo 650 PDA phone.  So we are all happy!  For two years anyway!

Borg Warner, Camaros and Vipers

Filed under: Uncategorized — doctorfeelgood @ 9:40 am

Before October, I only knew Borg-Warner as a company that built the awesome transmissions for the Camaro Z28 I used to own.  I have been on the road most of Nov/Dec working on a production line for Borg Warner Engineered Thermal Systems.  The line makes a clutch for the cooling fans for heavy-duty equipment (trucks mostly).  Here is a pic – nice huh?

HDMS
The production line assembles all the pats into a finished unit.

The coolest thing I saw was the production line that makes ALL of the Dodge Viper throttle-body assemblies – i.e. every Viper in existence has it’s air intake regulation made at the plant I was in.  Cool.

Weird – there is an actual town named Cadillac here in Michigan.  Reminds me of northern Saskatchewan actually!!
