The official mission of Serenity Day 2008 (SD08) is to promote massive sales of the Serenity Collector’s Edition DVD (BDCE), to donate those BDCEs (and any related items) to appropriate organizations, to promote charities related to our ‘Verse, to promote a worldwide increase in the Browncoat ranks, and to prove that there is sufficient interest — and money — to justify a sequel to Serenity, and the continuation of our ‘Verse.
We do not holds the above goals as mutually exclusive. We see sharing our ‘Verse as spreading a message of hope, of strength, of love, of inspiration, of respect, and of overcoming adversity against all odds.
The official date of Serenity Day 2008 is Sunday, August 17, 2008. This is the eve of the one-year anniversary of the release of the BDCE. Our ultimate goal is to do nothing short of wiping all shelves clean of this product, just in time to push initial year-over-year sales figures for the BDCE off the charts, through the stratosphere, and into the Black.
