There can be few quibbles about the casting of Oscar winners Brody and Sinise, but its hard to see Matt Damon as space lothario James T Kirk. An accomplished actor when well cast, Damon carries the unfortunate burden of looking about 15. We’d suggest Damon’s writing partner on Good Will Hunting, Ben Affleck, or Nathan Fillion (Serenity) might be better choices.

Saliva Tidbit: Josey knows Daughtery!
This is cool:(mtv)
Saliva have shows scheduled through April 29, and there will surely be more gigs, singles and videos to hit in 2007. And, whenever he can find a window, Scott continues to work on music and acting projects outside of the band. In April, he plans to hook up with “American Idol” superstar Chris Daughtry to write a song for an upcoming soundtrack.
“We’re really good friends and we thought it would be fun to do,” Scott said. “Ever since he became famous, we’ve been talking on the phone. We’re both Southern boys and he worked with my producer, Bob Marlette, on his new record. Bob gave him my number one day, and he called me out of the blue and we totally hit it off.”

No, this pepper is hot.
Well no sooner than I made the effort to blog the hot pepper from yesterday than there is a newer pepper that is hotter. Oh well. I can’t handle pure habeneros let alone these beasts:
Chebaris sez, “The dorset naga chilli weighs in at a massive 1.6 million scoville units which quite literally blows away the previously featured Bhut Jolokia chilli.”

This puppy is hot:
CC says:
Chile heads rejoice! Recent tests have confirmed that there is a new “world’s hottest chile pepper” : the Bhut Jolokia. Clocking in at a whopping 1,001,304 scovilles, it’s 100 times hotter than a jalapeño. This is good news both for mouth masochists looking for the ultimate burn, but also for food producers who will be able to produce the same amount of chile burn as an additive with far fewer chile peppers. This little lady has 26 toes. The good news is she/he can run and climb quite well. There appears to be no bad news. Read on.
AnyDVD HD – could this be anymore illegal?
Illegal or not, here it is. AnyDVD HD – software to make HD DVDs look like home movies so any DVD copy software can dupe them. Wow. Maybe in nine years when I can afford a HDDVD player, burner and blank media I will have to buy this. Then again, it is illegal . . .

From BoingBoing: PirateBay’s OscarTorrents – download the Oscars
PirateBay’s OscarTorrents – download the Oscars
OscarTorrents is an audacious new site from The Pirate Bay: a search-engine for torrents of this year’s Oscar nominees:
To those worried about downloading in case they get sued: by our calculations, your chances of getting nailed are way less than your chances of winning the lottery. Don’t think twice about it.To all intellectual property landlords: we are aware that OscarTorrents might annoy you — but contain your righteous indignation for a while, and think: we’re only linking to torrents that already exist. Face it: your membrane has burst, and it wasn’t us who burst it. Your precious bodily fluids are escaping.
You haven’t beaten us, so why not join us? Think of a new business model that doesn’t involve overpriced pieces of plastic and skanky cinemas hawking cheap carbohydrates while relying on $6/hr projectionists who can’t keep a film in focus — not to mention insulting your audiences by (to pick a few examples) surveilling us with nightvision glasses, searching bags, 30 minutes of commercials and bombarding us with ridiculous anti-piracy propaganda. Take a look at yourselves. Is it really any wonder we’re winning?
